Hades and his Lover (Pt. 5, B)

Note: I don't like the end of this, but whatever. It's done, and that's good.

Hades and his Lover
Part Five-B

“Whoa, I never said you could do that.”
“This is not about you, remember?” I looked up at him from where I straddled Zeus’s hips, and pressed kisses up his chest. His skin still tasted bitter against my lips, but there was not actually much I could do about that. He insisted he wanted to learn, so I was making a conscious decision just try to imagining it was not him. However, Zeus was not cooperating very well with my wishes.
“I don’t believe that Hades would ever encourage this position.”
“You would be surprised at what Hades encourages… However, he is not here now is he?” I raised an eyebrow. “So what does it matter what he wants or likes, Zeus?”
He sighed deeply through his nose, and nodded, “Alright, alright…continue.” He folded his hands behind his head.
“Do not get too comfortable,” I shook my head, sliding hand up his arm, pulling his hand away from his head, and wrapping his fingers around my member. “This cannot be just about you anymore. Not if you want this to stand a chance of working.”
“Marius, we’ve been working at this for three years,” He sighed shaking his head. “Just when I’m beginning to get the hang of pleasuring you, you go back to him. What’s the point in this?”
I sighed, shaking my head, “If you do not care about me, then why am I here, Zeus? You can not expect me to want to be here, to want you, if…if I am not getting anything out of it –no, let me finish.” I covered his mouth with my palm. “I do not love you, damn it. And you can protest that you that love me enough for the both of us, or whatever dumb shit it is that you are spouting off this time…it is not enough, and I am tired of being held here. Yes, three years for an immortal soul is not that long for this arrangement to have gone on, but three months out of all of those years, I have had to waste them here with you. Take away my immortality, I do not care…but let me be happy with him, the way I can not be with you.”
“You think I’ve wasted your time?” Zeus nodded before sighing and shaking his head. “I’m sorry, Marius. I can’t let you go that easily.”
“Then I am afraid I can not be a willing party to this anymore. Rape me, if that is what you want, but you can know the whole time that I am not thinking about you.”
“You don’t think about me now, Marius.” Zeus shook his head. “At least when I rape you, I know you feel something for me besides pity.”
“Is my hating you better then pity?”
“Yeah, it is.” Zeus nodded, pushing me back onto the foot of the bed, regaining his usual control over me, nudging my knees apart with is, and pushing them back to hook over his arms, lifting me as though I were nothing to an adequate height, rubbing his fingers against my hole. “I’d much rather you hate me then pity me. Pity is useless and fuels nothing. At least when you hate me, you have reason to hurt me.”
“I have no plans to hurt you, Zeus.” I bit my bottom lip and closed my eyes as he pushed inside of me.
“It’s too late for that, isn’t it?” His mouth captured mine, and the familiar metallic taste of his lips floated on my tongue. I resisted the urge to bite him, instead taking it all silently, resting my hands on the bed, letting him control everything as though I were simply his doll. A mere plaything for him…which, I sort of was; a walking, talking, angry, and disappointed toy.
When he was finished, he lay on his stomach next to me, watching my face as I stared blankly at the ceiling.
“You could say something.” He coaxed.
“What do you want to hear?” I asked, still not looking at him.
“I don’t know… Lie to me.” He suggested, tracing his fingers up my chest, outlining the masculine ridges. “Tell me that you’re deliriously happy, and that that was one of the best fucks you’ve ever had.”
“I do not lie,” I shook my head. “It is against my nature.”
“Sure you do,” Zeus nodded. “You lie to Hades all the time. You can’t tell me that you go back down there, and he examines you like you’re a little boy to make sure you’re all right; makes sure that Uncle Zeus hasn’t hurt you to badly. You can’t tell me that he doesn’t ask what we’ve done, and you tell him the truth; that we fuck every night until morning, and that sometimes you even enjoy it a little.”
“He doesn’t ask,” I shook my head again. “And if he did, I would tell him that he wouldn’t want to know, and that wouldn’t be a lie.” I turned to look at him for the first time since he had shifted off me and onto the bed, “Because he doesn’t want to know, it would hurt him to know that you’re doing this solely to make him miserable.”
“Is that what you think?” He asked, shifting onto his side, stroking himself again. “You think that I have sex with you because it hurts him?”
“He was not your first male lover,” I shook my head. “But you love him do you not? And you are jealous of me, right? Because of me, he has never had a reason to come back to you for sex, and you enjoyed it…doing it with him I mean.”
“That’s between him and me, and whether I enjoyed it or not certainly doesn’t have anything to do with you.”
“Zeus, you have slept with more people when most can count; gods, goddesses, bizarre creatures, humans… And the only one you have ever really wanted is your brother, am I right?”
“Don’t be stupid.”
“I am the one being stupid? I am not the one who is holding my brother’s lover prisoner against his will for three months out of the year in a failing attempt to get him to notice that he cares for him.”
“You’re just trying to make me angry so that when I rape you, I’ll be brutal, isn’t it? You want me to beat you or something? Fuck you hard enough you black out and you don’t have to feel it anymore?” Zeus pulled me closer, before shoving me roughly onto my stomach, “It’s not going to happen, Marius. I want you to feel everything.”
I scrunched my eyes closed and clenched my teeth, unable to really do anything other then protest as he picked me up at the hips, shoving a few of the silken pillows under my stomach, before riding my backside again. As time went on, I was used to his manhandling. Being a god for the last three years had given my body the ability to customize to each of my lover’s unique tastes –while Hades liked me to start tight, and making a game of enticing me open to his member, Zeus didn’t care for foreplay –at least not where I was concerned. Rarely, he would use lubricant, but mostly my body just knew that he wanted entry, and gave it to him, with little argument. He liked to hear me moan and whimper, so even though it rarely, so to say, hurt, I gave him what he wanted –and I usually was not enjoying it.
Not to say that I had never enjoyed sex with Zeus…sometimes, and I know this may sound a little hypocritical but, when I would get frustrated with him like I had on this night, and I would taunt him into a repetitious raping…sometimes, it was kind of exciting. He never cared if I came or not, and depending on just how he struck or rubbed at my prostate, I might have without either of us touching my member, but those times were few and far between. If I really needed release, I would have to find a private moment during the day to pleasure myself. I knew trying to teach Zeus how to do it was a lost cause –even though we had made our deal, and I still tried to teach him… it was not getting through to him, and I still did not care for him. The nine total months I had spent with him thus far had been pointless and painful –both physically and emotionally.
I was brought back from my little day dream when I felt him come, first inside me before slipping out to spurt across my back. I sighed, laying my head against my arms, his fluid feeling warm and sticky against my otherwise cool skin. His tongue lapped against my back, and his hands prodded my thighs, pushing me up onto my knees. His hands moved along my hips and around my member while his tongue lapped into my anus, surprising me.
“What are you doing?” I asked.
“This is what you wanted, isn’t it?”
“Well…yes.” I nodded.
“Then I’m giving you what you wanted. What’s the problem?” He asked, his fingers stroking a little harder and a little faster.
“This is unusual is all.”
“Does it feel good?” He asked, his member –hard yet again, pushed against my backside, his thighs nearly tight to my hips as he rode me a little more softly this time, not as fast as before, stroking his full length in and out while his fingers tantalized my member.
I thought for a moment before nodding, “It does, you’ve obviously been paying attention.”
“More attention then you think,” He assured me, pressing his lips to the back of my neck as I moaned as he gave a nice, hard thrust. “Ah, you like that, don’t you?”
I nodded softly, biting my lip.
“Say that you like,” He tempted, pulling one hand away from my member to rake his fingers through my hair and pull my head back, his lips pressing to my throat and cheeks. “Tell me…and maybe after this I’ll be satisfied for the night?”
“What if I do not want you to be satisfied? What if I like it when you do this?”
“If you really liked it when I fucked you this way, you’d be happy here and you wouldn’t want to leave me at the end of the three months.” He chided. “Don’t tease me, Marius.”
I laughed softly, before nodding, “Fair enough. I like it when you are rough with me, but gentle at the same time. I like it when you think about my needs too, like you’re doing right now.”
“And?”
“There is no ‘and’, Zeus.”
“Isn’t there?” He asked, beginning to buck roughly into me before drawing out slowly. “Are you positive?”
“Yes. That’s what I like when I’m with you Zeus.”
He murmured, letting go of my hair, and allowing my head to tip forward again, rubbing my member a little more quickly now, keeping up with the motion and pace of his hips. It was not long before both of us were spent; Zeus for the third time, and me for the first.
“Are you happy now?” He asked, his fingers trailing down my back, contentedly touching me. I thought for a moment…should I just tell him what he wanted to hear, even though it would be a total and complete lie, or I should I tell him the truth? I opted for a half-way point.
“Almost,” I shrugged.
“Almost?” He decided to take my reply as teasing.
“I do not wish to argue with you again tonight, so…think of ‘almost’ as a compliment. I’m happier then I was when the evening started.”
“But you’re not completely fulfilled, is that it?” He sighed, leaning on his elbow. “Okay, so what is it going to take, Marius?”
“It’s not possible for me to be completely happy with you, Zeus. You know that.” I groaned as I leaned up, removing the pillows from under me, tossing them from the bed, and curling up with my back to him. I felt his eyes boring into me before the bed shifted and he wrapped his arms around my chest. He didn’t say anything before he sighed heavily against the back of my neck.
“Marius, I will make you happy, completely happy. And once I do that…I’ll let you go.”
“What if I’m faking it?”
“You won’t. I can always see the disappointment in your eyes.”
“Are you looking for me to be happy or fulfilled, Zeus? They are two completely different things.”
“You already have fulfillment, I can do that for you on a nightly basis, Marius and you know it even if you hate to admit it. I’m looking to make you happy.” He pressed his lips to the back of my shoulder.
“Good luck.” And I sort of meant it…although, falling in love with Zeus or being happy with him, would mean a change with my relationship with Hades. I loved him fiercely, and was willing to do anything for him…would I –could I ever feel similarly for Zeus? Again, it wasn’t even that I didn’t like Zeus as a person. Sure, he was kind of a pompous asshole, but he did good things for humanity (…bad things too), cared for his family, and I think that with me, he was just looking for a challenge. His life, since the Greek and Roman Empires had fallen had become dull and monotonous.
“I don’t need luck…I’m the ruler of the gods, Marius.” He chuckled softly before drawing our covers up over our waists, and pressing his forehead to my back to settle into sleep.

So, we went on, and I continued to be shuffled between Zeus and Hades. Overtime, I became more…tolerant of Zeus. I wouldn’t say that I was happy there, but I was content. Year after year, the night before I would leave to go back to Hades, he would pull me into his arms whether I liked it or not, kiss me on the lips, and ask me: “Are you happy here?” And each time, for over a hundred years I would have to shake my head, “I can be content to be here, but I am not happy.”
And then he would, sigh, rolling onto his back, and stare up at the ceiling while I turned away onto my shoulder to sleep.
One of the only reasons I was even content to be in Olympus in the first place was Hestia. While the other gods liked to tease us as being faux-lovers, we just enjoyed each other’s company. For Hestia, I got her away from the fireplaces for fun things such as playing tag in the garden or just being all around Child-like, which Hestia was good at. Even though she was older then I was, she was still in some ways a lot younger then me. While she had seen Olympus through wartimes, seen her family members fighting over each other, and going about their duties, she hadn’t ever really had a friend –not that I had really had many friends either, but Hestia really had no one and everyone at the same time. Olympus was overflowing with people, and things to do, but being shy, Hestia stayed in her rooms, or at least shied away from the more populated places in the castle. It wasn’t even that she didn’t know the people that were around –she knew everyone, and as far as I knew it wasn’t as though anyone had any grudges against her –and how could you? Hestia was one of the most wonderful people I had ever met.
“Marius,” she wrapped her arms around my waist where we sat out in the bright sunshine underneath an olive tree, the morning before I left. “I know you don’t like being here, but I hate it when you leave.”
“Well, if you were not so shy around the others here, you wouldn’t be lonely Hestia. You were not shy when approaching me, if you remember. In fact, when I met you were a little crass.”
“I was stupid then, and trying to make myself seem confident so that you’d like me,” She pressed her face against my chest. “Do you have to go?”
“Yes, I do…you could come visit me though. You have never been to the Underworld, and I know that Hades and I are not as grand and gallant as it is up here, but…we could show you a good time.”
“Really?” She asked, looking up at me. “But, what if I don’t like it down there?”
“Then we would arrange for you to come back….you just ca not eat any pomegranates down there.” I pressed my forehead to hers. “Or you will have to come back year-after-year, and I do not think you would enjoy that at all. You are too bright and sunny to coop you up down there for long.”
“I’ll have to think about it.” She shrugged, unwrapping her arms from around me, “Should we have one more game before you go?”
“I don’t think I have time,” I shook my head. “Hades is actually coming here to get me…he’ll probably be early.”
She sighed, resting her chin against my shoulder, “Marius, you know that you’re my own friend here, right? I mean, really. When you’re not around, I’m just kind of here.”
“I will be back,” I assured her before turning towards a commotion coming from the archways into the castle.
“Marius!” Hades familiar bark told me was annoyed, probably because, as I could hear, Zeus was harassing him about being nearly a half hour earlier then instructed.
“You can’t take him yet!”
“You aren’t even with him! He’s with Hestia!” Hades protested, “What difference does it matter if I take him now opposed to in a half an hour?”
“I’m sure it matters to Hestia!” Zeus crossed his arms over his chest, glowering at Hades.
“Hestia, does it really matter to you whether Marius leaves with me now, or if he leaves with me in half an hour?” Hades asked, turning towards the two of us underneath the tree.
Hestia sighed, shaking her head, “No, it doesn’t.”
“Do not lie, it does bother you, does it not?” I asked, turning to her. “You can tell him that it bothers you, Hestia.”
“No, you’ve been waiting to leave since the moment you got here…go.” She smiled softly, pushing on my shoulder. “And I’ll think about visiting you.”
“Are you sure?” I asked.
“Positive,” She nodded, with a wider smile that was obviously fake and forced. “I’ll see you later.”
I hugged her for a moment before getting up from the ground to walk over to where Hades and Zeus were still arguing, to put a hand on each of their shoulders.
“Stop bickering,” I pushed the two of them apart and stepped between them. “Zeus, we’re leaving now, and I’ll come back a half hour early if that’s what you want.”
Zeus shook his head, stepping back, “No, it’s fine. Go with him, it’s what you want.”
“Oh don’t do that, don’t try to act like you’re being the bigger person,” Hades shook his head.
“Master,” I turned away from Zeus, putting both of my hands on his shoulders, “do not start an argument. We can go, okay?” I kissed him softly for the first time in three months, but neither of us took an extra few moments to savor it as we usually did. “Do not push him.”
He nodded, putting a hand on my hip, ushering me back towards the castle, “Let’s go.”
It wasn’t long until we were back in the Underworld, and I was surprised to see that the castle was bustling with activity.”
“…Is something going on?” I asked after we had passed the third servant on our trek to our rooms.
“Ah, yes…I hired back all of the servants and the gardeners. I missed the activity… is that okay?” He asked, taking my bag from my hands and tossing it onto a chair before wrapping his arms around my waist.
“It’s fine…but if you’ve all these people around, what am I to do?”
“The same thing you’ve always done, of course.”
“Uh huh, which is why you have clean shirts in your closet that are all neatly pressed and starched, of course; whose been doing your laundry? I’d like to gut them.”
“Oh, is that a note of jealousy I detect?” Hades raised an eyebrow. “Don’t worry about my laundry. James will never touch it again.”
“James…as in…James?”
“If you are referring to the James previously employed by me as a second manservant, yes…that James.”
I narrowed my eyes at him, “And that is all he has been doing for you?”
“As sexy as it is to have someone doing my laundry Marius, I assure you that you’re the only one I’ve welcomed into my bed from my staff.” He teased, kissing me. “Are you threatened by him?”
“No, of course not, Master. James isn’t nearly as attractive as what I know you like, just look at your past conquests.”
“Is that what you are? A conquest, Marius…shame on you, I thought you thought better of yourself. I guess I’ll just have to prove to you that while a conquest you may have started, you are now very much my equal and there is no subordination where you are concerned.”
“Oh? Am I the queen now then?” I asked, a slight smile crossing my lips involuntarily as I nipped at his lips. “Queen Marius of the Underworld…I don’t think I like that.”
Hades took a deep sigh, before lifting me up by the hips and dropping me unceremoniously on the bed, covering my body with his a moment later, kissing my throat. “I don’t either… Lets take a look at what that monster has done to you while you’ve been away.”
“Hades, this is silly. You do this little examination game every time I come back and you never find anything wrong with me.” I ran my fingers through his hair, pulling his eyes back to mine. “Look…he isn’t hurting me.”
He sat back on his knees, looking down at me, “Do you…do you care for him?”
“No, I mean…” I leaned up on my elbows shaking my head. “It’s not that I care for him, Master. I just…I tolerate him.”
“Do you like it up there?”
I shrugged again, “I can’t say that I don’t –Master no, don’t take it that. I love it here with you, I wouldn’t prefer to be anywhere but here, but…being up there isn’t bad. It’s bright and sunny almost all of the time, there’s always people around and things to do, and I…I have a friend there.”
“Hestia.” He nodded.
I nodded back, “I like Hestia…no, I love Hestia, and I love being with her. She makes the whole place bearable, and now that I have her, I don’t know what I’d do without her.”
He nodded, stretching out next to me again, “Do you really love her?”
“Not the way that I love you, Master.” I shook my head. “It’s different, she’s my best friend.”
“I thought I was your best friend,” He pouted, tugging on my earlobe.
I smiled, and shook my head, “You’re my lover, it’s different.”
“How is it different?” He asked.
“Well for one thing, I don’t have sex with her.” I kissed him, “I don’t share a room with her, and…I can tell Hestia anything…things I can’t tell you.”
“Like what?” He leaned up on his elbow. “What can’t you tell me?”
I shrugged, “Like…with Zeus. I could tell you, but you’d just get angry and…getting angry wouldn’t help, so I don’t. I tell Hestia.”
“And you’ve sworn her to secrecy haven’t you?”
I nodded, “And she would never betray me, I know it.”
He sighed heavily again, laying back down, and staring up at the ceiling, “So, what is it like? It’s been nearly a hundred years since this whole ordeal started. Is it getting easier?”
“It isn’t at the beginning, but by the time I’m back with you, I see that it wasn’t all that bad.”
He turned, looking at me again, “Does he…does he hurt you, Marius? Even if I can’t see the marks it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.”
“If he does, I usually encourage it. I piss him off just as much as you do. Maybe more so…” I laid my head on his chest, listening to the hollow patter in his torso. “And, I think I have come to learn why he does this to us. He won’t exactly admit it in so many words, but…the ones he uses, it makes it obvious.”
“Oh?” Hades’ fingers tugged through my hair petting me, his other hand on my arm around his chest. “Why is it then?”
I looked up at him, debating on telling him why it was that Zeus was torturing us, before I shrugged, and laid back, “Because he loves you.”
Hades was quiet for a moment before he started laugh softly, “Because he loves me?” He repeated. “That’s rich, Marius-love, but I don’t think so. …What makes you say that?”
“When he first took me, he told me that I looked like him,” I looked up at him again. “And…I do. Maybe he thinks that you choosing and falling in love with me was a way to get closer to him, and after I stopped sleeping with you and yet went to see him after you married Persephone… He liked it,” I shrugged. “He liked it a lot. More then he could ever tell you, more then he wants to admit to me or anyone else. You are who he really wants, Master. He is just settling for me because I am close to you. He’s doing this to make you angry so you will come back to him.”
He murmured neither in agreement or denial, resting back against the pillows, thinking over what I had said to him, stroking his fingers across my arms, before he finally spoke up a while later, “So, what do you say we test that theory? I’ll make a deal with him at the beginning of the summer… That is, if you don’t mind my having sex with someone,” He looked down at me again.
“What do you mean? What are you going to do?” I asked.
“You have to go back every summer, that’s not going to change, Marius.” He shook his head. “But if I’m what he wants…maybe I can get him to stop taking it on you?”
“You are going to have sex with him like he wants, so that he will stop fucking me?” I asked. “Master, I do not know whether you’re a dumbass or brilliant.”

“Well, this is unprecedented…” Zeus crossed his arms as Hades and I entered his throne room at the beginning of the next summer, Hestia already glued to my side since the moment I had entered the grounds.
“Marius, why don’t the two of you go play?” Hades waved us away as though we were children. “Zeus and I need to have a talk.” He pressed a kiss to my forehead, “I’ll come say goodbye before I go.”
“No you won’t, you’ll leave right now.” Zeus stood, and then his curiosity got the better of him. “What do you want?”
“This is about Marius, of course.” Hades shrugged. “What else would I want from you…” He turned back to Hestia and me who were still standing there watching the two of them. “Go on, outside.” He urged.
“Come on Marius, we can go see if any of the others are busy and play a board game.” Hestia took my wrist, leading me away. Once we were outside of the room, she brought me close again, “What’s going on? You know don’t you?”
“I do,” I nodded, brushing her hand away from wrist. “Not so close, Hestia. It has not been that long since you have seen me –you only left your visit a few weeks ago.”
“Yes, and I have a feeling that you and Hades have been planning something out all winter. What’s going on, Marius?” She tapped my nose, “Tell me…you never hide things from me –even things I would prefer not to know about.”
“Hades is going to try something…new.” I shrugged. “Do not worry, even if it works, I would still have to come back, but this way, Zeus wouldn’t be harassing me anymore.”
“What’s he going to do?”
“You do not want to know,” I smiled shaking my head. “I do not even really like it, but it would be hypocritical of me if I told him that he could not do it.”
“He’s going to have sex with him, isn’t he?” Hestia looked surprised. “Why is everyone having sex but me?!”
“I am sure that is not true… Athena is supposed to be a virgin goddess too, is she not?”
Hestia scoffed, “More like she’s a lesbian…she’s been fucking females since she was twelve.” She sighed, crossing her arms. “I’m almost three and a half thousand years old and I’ve never, ever had sex. It sucks to me sometimes, everyone else gets to have all of the damn fun.”
“If it helps, it really is not…that fun. Well, it is, but…it is okay.”
She raised and eyebrow in disbelieve, cocking her head to the side.
“Okay, so I am lying to make you feel better, sex is fabulous most of the time, depending on who you are with.”
“But why, Marius, why do I have to be the stupid virgin goddess of crap?” She clenched her teeth in a low growl. “It’s just so fucking…obnoxious, everyone else around here gets to do it, but can Hestia? Noooo, she’s got to be nice and good and pure as the undriven snow.”
“Do you really want to have sex that badly?” I asked, “Honestly Hestia, it…it is nice, it is good, but it is not worth anything. I mean, if it is with someone you love, sex is great, it is as close to a person as you can really get without being that person, to have them inside you, even just a for a little while, feels good…but, with someone you do not really care for, or about, it is not the same.”
She nodded, before shaking her head, “Anyway, lets go find something to do. I think I heard that the others were going to start playing a game of volleyball outside in the sand?”
“We should go then,” I took her hand and let her lead me out side.
We been outside for nearly an hour and a half when I saw Hades leaning against a pillar out of the bright light. I motioned for Hestia to cover for me for a moment while I made a quick dash over to him.
“Are you leaving?” I asked, touching my hands to his shoulders. “How’d it go?”
He pursed his lips for a moment before shrugging, “It was fine…we understand each other now.”
“Did you…did you do it?” I raised an eyebrow.
“Love, that’s something I’m never going to tell you.” He pressed a soft kiss to my lips. “But, you won’t be expected to perform any of your duties anymore.”
“Master?”
“It’s okay,” He shook his head, his palms pressed against my face, giving me a harder kiss. “I’ll see you in three months. Enjoy your time with Hestia.”
“But Master, I don’t…” I sighed as he pulled away from me.
“Shh,” He shook his head. “Goodbye, Marius. I’ll come pick you up again.”
I watched him leave, and I crossed my arms across my chest, unsure of something. Obviously, he had done something, but it was rare for him to hide something from me, especially from me. Nevertheless, three months apart from him might help him to open up when the summer ended…but until then, I had three months ahead of me without any kind of nightly sex acts with Zeus to look forward too. Just a summer with Hestia and almost no worries; I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Hades and his Lover (Pt. 5)

Note: Eeek, I hope everyone likes this! It’s definitely taking a turn towards something worth continuing, I think, and while I’m not sure how I really feel about turning this into a continuum, I’m also kind of thrilled about that… Your ideas for more shorts out of the pending continuum are always greatly appreciated, because I really do love writing about these two! Thanks to everyone who has reviewed too! (Eeek, this is also very long!)

The Story of Hades and his Lover
Part Five

“How dare you try to pass a judgment over my kingdom!” Hades’ fist pounded into the thick wooden table positioned between himself and his younger brother. “What gives you any right to try and tell me how to rule the Underworld?”
“What gives me the right is that you’re not dispelling enough of your shades to keep my part of the earth populated!” Zeus retorted. “Every shade must reincarnate every five-hundred years.”
“No!” Hades argued, “This is because of what happened after you kidnapped Marius, isn’t it?”
“Master, please…” I touched his shoulder, reminding him that I was there. “Do not bring me into this?”
Hades shrugged off my hand, still berating his brother, “I’m not going to do what you’re asking me to –I will not let him go again! Just because he managed to retain everything from our life before—”
“Hades, he doesn’t have a life. Marius isn’t a living thing.” Zeus came around the table, gripping his shoulders. “He is your servant and he shouldn’t be anything more then that to you. You are a god, damn it.”
“Fuck you,” Hades shoved on Zeus’s shoulders, hard enough to send him back a step. “You wouldn’t be saying this to me if I had just let you keep him, would you? You don’t understand anything, you’re too young Zeus, too carefree. You sit up here on your fucking mountain and drink and laugh and play and sleep with whoever is willing… Well, guess what, I don’t have that luxury. I get your cast-offs –everyone that you look down on, every person on earth that you use as little pawns in your games of love and war…they all come to me. Crying, moaning, begging… Marius is the only piece of happiness I’ve ever had, and you want to talk that away from me.”
“Don’t be stupid, I gave you a wife. She should…could have made you happy.”
“Persephone caused more trouble then she was ever worth to me!” Hades shook his head. “Don’t be so stupid, and stop trying to control my kingdom. There are plenty of shades that are more then willing to repopulate your earth –but don’t condemn those who want to stay.”
“Master,” I tried to interject again, sliding my hand across his stomach this time from behind. “Please…this is not a bad thing. We can make this work.”
“No,” Hades shook his head. “I won’t stand for being told what to do by my impudent younger brother.”
“Master…Hades,” I sighed, trying to get him to look at me as his equal rather then as his underling for once. “You are making this worse then it is. Even if you agree, it is still four hundred years before it would be my turn to go and I would only be gone for twenty years, and then I would be back.”
“I would lose you for twenty years every five hundred for the rest of eternity? Do you have any idea how long eternity is, Marius?”
“Master,” I turned him to face me, holding his face in my hands. “We’ve already had an eternity together…besides, this could be…exciting.”
“Exciting?” He raised an eyebrow at me. “Excuse me, Love, but I don’t get any feelings of excitement at this prospect.”
“Master, maybe we just need to do a small…population boom on earth. Then maybe it won’t even come to pass that I would have to go.”
“Marius, you’re such a dreamer.” Hades pressed a kiss to my forehead, before turning back to Zeus. “I won’t do it. Not unless you agree that he doesn’t have to go.”
“Hades, if he doesn’t go you might face mutiny…and a god being expelled from his kingdom by souls? It doesn’t sound like something you want going down in the books.”
“Then do something about it,” Hades crossed his arms over his chest. “Make him whole. Make him a God like you did for your son.”
“Heracles had to work for that honor,” Zeus reminded him. “Besides, his rightful place was here…Marius is, was, and always will be a mortal shade.”
“That’s shit and you know it.”
“There’s nothing I can do –even if I wanted to. I did all I could to make him immortal, and you know it. Only the Fates can help you, and even their power is limited.” Zeus shook his head.
“Then I’ll talk to them,” Hades shrugged. “But you won’t succeed in taking him away from me, understood?”
Zeus took a moment before nodding, “Of course, I wouldn’t dream of trying that again.” He let his eyes trail over to me, giving me a slight smile. “Although, our short time together was fun, wasn’t it Marius?”
I blushed red, stepping towards Hades and not answering him, putting my hand on his shoulder again, “Master, maybe we should retire for the evening? All this arguing has made you irritable.”
Hades grunted with a slight nod, “I suppose so…Come along then.” He clasped his fingers with mine, turning to look at his brother. “You touch him again and I will destroy you.”
“Understood, Brother,” Zeus nodded again, following us with his eyes as we exited into the antechamber.
“Master, are you still angry?” I asked.
“You called me by my name,” He glanced over at me. “You’ve never done that before…the couple thousand years we’ve been together and you’ve never once called me by my name before.”
“Did it bother you? I am sorry if it did, I just wanted for you to listen to me.” I stopped, pulling his arms around my waist, and laying my head against his chest. “I apologize.”
“No, it didn’t bother me,” Hades smiled softly, kissing my forehead. “I…I liked it. It sounds lovely coming from your mouth.” He placed another kiss to my lips. “Besides, I’m the one who should apologize…I hate bringing you here, but I’m afraid to leave you alone.”
I sighed, “Master, it’s already been a hundred years since I was kidnapped…besides, the only person who still wants me besides you is Zeus. Persephone is with her mother for the season, and she wouldn’t dream of trying that again.”
Hades sighed annoyed, “My brother is infuriating and annoying… I hate the way he looks at you, especially when he can have any other man or woman he wanted.” He brushed his fingers over my forehead, pushing my hair behind my ear. “And then he pouts and whines like a little child when he can’t have his way. I still can’t believe you sometimes when you tell me that being abused like that hasn’t…affected you some how.”
“Master, knowing that you love me makes me stronger then I look.” I kissed his cheek. “Come on, we should go to bed… I will help you forget this horrible argument you have had tonight.” I tempted him.
“Hmm…” He nodded, “You’ve convinced me, let’s go.” He winked teasingly at me before pulling me into our guest bedroom.
I had been to Olympus with Hades several times over the many millennia, but we had never been truly together there, for three reasons. One, because we were always hiding our relationship, two, because Persephone usually accompanied him as well, and three, because I was not comfortable sleeping with him while under the scrutinizing eyes of the other gods and goddesses. This time however, especially since it was our first time together out of the Underworld since Persephone’s treachery and Zeus had kidnapped me, Hades was keeping me tightly at his side, not letting me stray out of his sight. It was awkward, not only because I was forced to listen to Godly argument, but because the entire time I stood slightly to Hade’s right, a hand on the back of his chair, I could feel Zeus’s eyes boring into me past Hera and Apollo at his right.
This was also awkward because I failed to understand the want in Zeus’s eyes. When it came from my lover, I knew how to satiate him. I knew what he wanted, and I was more then happy to give it to him…but when it came from this stranger, I was not sure what to do with myself. Part of me wanted to disappear into embarrassment and part of me wanted to stare back at him defiantly and let him know that he did not scare me, and that he would not get what he wanted from me –not as long as Hades still sat in front of me.
“Do you want something to drink?” Hades offered, only after he had pushed me down onto the plush bed in our guest room and kissed me rather lavishly.
“No,” I shook my head. “But I can get something for you, if you would like.”
“Nonsense, you aren’t my servant this visit.” Hades shook his head, getting up from the bed, and pulling out a bottle of wine from his pack on the floor. “And besides, I didn’t tell I brought this…”
“Do you distrust Zeus that much? Do you really think he would drug us with wine, Master?” I asked, sitting up on my elbows to watching him pour some of the wine into a goblet. “You are growing paranoid.”
“You wouldn’t say that if you knew my brother,” He took a drink of the wine and then knelt on the edge of the bed, pressing the lip of the goblet to my mouth, “Taste.”
I took a sip of the wine before taking it away from him, “Master, he’s been looking at me all day. I do not really like it.”
“I know,” He nodded. “I don’t like it either Marius, but there really isn’t a whole lot I can do about it, short of gouging out his eyes, which would just grow back.”
“Did you mean what you said earlier? About talking to the Fates?”
“If it means you could be with me forever, I would barter away anything to the Fates. They have unseen powers, I don’t see why they wouldn’t be able to at least point us in the right direction for immortality.”
“Is what you want for me, Master? Or do you want Godhood?”
Hades shrugged, “Whatever will keep you with me, that’s all that’s important.”
I nodded, taking another sip from the goblet of wine, “So, are you going to ravish me, or not?”
Hades grumbled in his throat before taking the goblet back, drinking the rest of it before letting the chalice slip through his fingers with a clinking sound on the floor. Then he pressed his palms to my shoulders, pushing his lips against mine.
“Hmm, Master…too hard,” I pushed my hands against his chest, and turned my head away.
“You said you wanted ravishing,” Hades teased, falling to my side, laying a knee across my hips, and wrapping an arm around my chest, nuzzling his nose against my neck.
“Yes, but I do not want your teeth grating against mine,” I turned my face back to look at him. “Maybe tonight we should just…sleep, yes?”
“You don’t want to make love?” He raised an eyebrow, “Is something wrong, Marius?”
“No, of course not,” I kissed him. “I am just tired. I have been standing all day, trying to avoid looking directly at Zeus, least he set me ablaze with his eyes or something like that.”
“Don’t be silly,” Hades thumb brushed across my cheek. “It wouldn’t do anything to you anyway.”
“Do you want it?” I breathed, my lips touching his softly as I spoke. “Is it that important to you?”
“No,” He breathed back, slightly exasperated.
I smiled, “You can use me if you if you really want too.”
“No,” He kissed me again. “I will be perfectly content to sleep beside you. Besides, we can’t fuck every night now can we?”
“I think we would have bored of each other a long time ago if we did. Besides, if we hold out until we get back home, imagine how much fun it will be.” I raised a suggestive eyebrow at him.
“We’re not leaving here for two more nights,” He moaned, closing his eyes and pressing his forehead against mine.
“We’ve gone longer,” I reminded him.
He took a deep breath, “If it’s what you want.”
“I am just not comfortable doing it here,” I shrugged. “I am surprised you are not the one who is being paranoid –we could be being watched right this very moment.”
“Then I hope they enjoy the show.”

The three sisters who made up the Fates were older then the gods, and had amounts of unknown and possibly unlimited power. I had them all briefly many times, when they liked to drop in on Hades and inform him of wars or other disasters they had planned for the mortals. They way the three of them moved in unison –Clotho constantly spinning thread, Lachesis measuring out lengths, and Atropos cutting it all very unceremoniously. Very rarely did they ever did they stop their work, but when Hades asked them about turning me into a god, they stopped dead.
“Excuse us,” Clotho continued her work after almost a full minute of no movement, just staring at Hades with the 1 single eye shared between them. “I don’t think you really realize what you are asking for, Hades.”
“I know exactly what I am asking for. Can you help us, or not?” Hades asked, sitting back in his chair,
Atropos, blind, turned to her head to look at me, “And of you, the little blonde servant boy…this is what you want? Come, come, and say something.”
“Yes,” I took a moment before answering.
“Something like that would come with a heavy price,” Lachesis, the one bearing the eye, looked directly at Hades.
“Anything you want,” Hades shrugged. “What do you want, Sisters? Gold, silver, jewels…”
“It is not really about what we want.” Clotho began to spin the thread again, Lachesis with the measure, and the sharp snap of the scissors cutting down on it a moment later. “In fact, when Zeus brought this to us, we had hoped what you wanted wasn’t true. We are prepared to help you with this problem, but…you won’t like the cost. We know you won’t.”
“Zeus came to you?” Hades started to stand, but I put a hand on his shoulder.
“Master, be calm. What did Zeus say, Sisters?” I asked.
Lachesis hummed, “Should we tell them the cost, Sisters?”
“I don’t know if they can handle it,” Atropos replied with a snap of the scissors
“Don’t be so cryptic,” Hades scoffed. “I take he paid you to do this, so what does he want? That’s what this is about isn’t it? You’ll do it if we agree to his terms.”
“Something like that…” Clotho nodded.
“What is it then?”
“We make your lover into a God if you’ll agree to let him spend three months out of the year with Zeus on Olympus.”
“Never,” Hades shook his head. “How dare he even think I would agree to something like that?”
“Then we can’t help you.”
“Who will?”
“There is no one else, just us. Short of your Lover-Boy becoming a mortal again and doing the whole hero gig…which,” Atropos laughed softly, “is highly unlikely he would even remember he has to accomplish once he was reincarnated… We’re you’re only hope, Hades.”
Hades took a deep breath, before nodding slightly, “And how long until the offer expires?”
“You’ll have a week to decide… We’ll be back then.” All three crones smiled before disappearing in a swirling puff of smoke and sparks.
Hades turned to me, looking solemn, “I won’t do it. Not if that’s what it means.”
“I understand,” I nodded. “But, Master…this is the only way.”
He nodded, “I know…but what would prefer, spending time with him every year or spending five hundred with me for very twenty you’re on earth?”
“But, we never know what will happen…People come back and do not remember anything but they life they just lived. I could come back and not know who you are, Master. The Fates hold that power too, and of anyone, Zeus can make sure that happens just as much as he can make sure this happens… I’m completely vulnerable there, who knows what would happen? Besides…this isn’t about what I want. It’s about what you can live with.”
Hades sighed, shaking his head, “I don’t want either.”
“And Zeus will settle for either. It’s your choice,” I pressed a kiss to his forehead. “I will do whatever you want.” I started to leave to let him think, but he pulled me back, positioning me in front of him to wrap his arms around my waist, his forehead pressing against my stomach. “…Master?”
He didn’t reply, standing, and lifting me up under the thighs to wrap my legs around his waist, my arms going around his neck.
“Master, what are you doing?” I asked.
“I’m going to fuck you,” He replied.
“Oh? Do I get a say in this?”
“No, not really,” He shook his head, pushing open the door with his hip to carry me towards the bedroom. “Is there a problem? Because you should voice it now, just in case I do decide to heed it.”
“Well, besides that it is only just after dinner time, and there is still many hours in the day… this is slightly unprecedented.”
“I need this, and so do you.” He dropped me on the edge of the bed, pushing me back into the mattress, stroking his fingers up my stomach. “I can tell.”
“Well, we did just get back from Olympus this morning, so it has been awhile…” I smiled, kissing him and biting softly on his lip. “But what’s this really about? You’re covering up something aren’t you?”
“Let me love you first,” Hades countered.
I sighed, “You know what you’re doing, don’t you?”
“I do.” He nodded.
“And what did you decide?” I asked.
“That while I hate to think about what my brother will be doing to you, it’s probably for the best.”
“Are you sure?”
“I’m positive. Besides, it could have been worse. He could requested six months, but no…he only wants three, which leaves you with me for nine. It’s a good deal, Marius.”
I nodded, “But are you sure you can live with that? You know exactly what he wants me there for.”
“Can you live with it?” He asked.
I took a moment before nodding, “We can get through anything. Being with him isn’t going to change how I feel about you. He knows I won’t love him…I won’t, Master.”
“I know that,” He kissed me, before tugging my shirt over my head pressing his lips to my chest. “But, let’s not think about it before we tell anyone, okay?”
I nodded, “Of course.”
His mouth against my skin was bittersweet, as if he knew it would be the last time it would ever just be us, with no one coming between us, no one else on our minds, no worrying about what was to come…just the two of us.
My hands slid up his chest, underneath his thin silk button-down, undoing the clasps as I went before pushing the smooth fabric over his shoulders his arms gliding out of it willingly, then I let it slip between my fingers onto the bed next to us.
“So, what do you want? How do you want it?” He asked, his hands raking through my hair. “You want your frot?” He teased, kissing my shoulder before looking me in the eye again. “Missionary, cowboy, docking, interfemoral, buttockery? What’s your pleasure, Marius?”
“What do you want, Master?” I asked, linking my fingers behind his neck.
He took a deep breath past his lips, exhaling through his nose against my chest, “It all sounds good…You must have a preference?”
I smiled, shaking my head, “No, not really…any way I can be close to you, kiss you, hold you…” I bit my lip before kissing him. “It does not matter quite yet anyway, you are not even hard yet.”
“I’m hard enough to start thinking about how I’m going to make you groan, and scrape your nails down my back.” He raised an eyebrow suggestively, leaning back to unbutton the clasp on my trousers. I rolled my eyes, brushing his hands away to slip the button through the hole on his jeans, and slid the zipper down, pushing his own trousers past his hips, stroking my fingers along his length.
“Hmm, I guess you are.”
“Tease,” He scoffed, kissing me, before getting off the bed to slid the dark cloth off into a puddle on the floor, before roughly pulling mine off as well.
“Ooh, and now you’re being rough…being a little wayward can pay off.”
“You like that, do you?” He asked, stretching over me before rolling me on top of him, clasping his fingers behind my back, my palms pressing into the bed above his shoulders.
“Sometimes,” I nodded, kissing him with that short bittersweet feeling we had gone through before. It wasn’t like we could say it out loud –that that’s what my life would be like the three months I was with Zeus. Hot, rough sex on a nightly basis…and it would be very unlikely that I would ever get my say in what happened to my body. Once I was deemed a God, he would be free to execute any kind of torture he wanted on me without the possibility of leaving any kind of mark, no worry about a spell wearing off and going incorporeal... Three months on Mount Olympus may equal a nightly shredding, but I would be equal, or at least closer in power to him this time.
Hades slid a hand across my hips and between our bodies, caressing his fingertips along my member, before pushing me back, “Turn around.”
I raised an unsatisfied eyebrow, “Why?”
“Why do you think?” He tempted, lapping his tongue against my lips. “Now c’mon…play along, Marius.”
“Master...”
“You’ll like it, I promise.” He patted my butt softly. “Now c’mon…turn around, on all fours.”
I complied, with a soft grumble, grabbing one of the pillows to lean my elbows on, “Alright, I did as you asked.”
“You’re very pretty from the back,” He taunted licking his tongue along my backside. I groaned softly, closing my eyes, my hips shifting backwards as he pulled away, splaying his hands across my cheeks, pulling them apart before devouring his mouth over the opening, probing his tongue inside, shallow at first then gradually a little deeper. Eventually, at a little prompting he replaced his tongue with a finger, then two, then three.
“Okay,” He patted me softly on the hip, “Come back into my lap.” He leaned up against the headboard, slowly stroking himself, his member slick and glistening with lubricant I had not seen him use. I crawled back across the bed, pressing my knees into his hips, taking his hands away from his member, which were sticky as I clasped our fingers together, lowering myself slowly over him, grunting softly against his throat.
He tilted my face towards his, kissing me softly as I engulfed him, “You feel good…tight.”
“You are still not completely hard,” I chastised him, groaning slightly as I came to settle over him completely.
“I’m getting there,” He promised nipping his lips against my neck. “Are you alright?” I nodded, sliding my knees back to lift up off of him slowly, before pushing back down, His slippery hands went to my hips, mine gripping his shoulders and closing my eyes to rock on his member. I felt him get harder inside of me before he groaned, one of his hands on my own rigid appendage, stroking me, the other hand lifting my chin to kiss me as he climaxed, filling me. I moaned softly, moving my hands from his shoulders to his face and kissed him more forcefully, reacquainting our tongues and continued to stroke him in and out until I felt him fully soften again.
“If I get up, I am going to make a mess,” I breathed against his lips. “Come is going to go everywhere, Master, I can feel it.”
“Then stay there, but if you do, I can’t take you in my mouth and help you finish.”
I moaned, shaking my head, “No…just your hands are fine.” I kissed him again.
“You’ll have to get off of me eventually,” He chided, his lips brushing my jaw and his hand continuing to stroke my member.
“I will worry about that in a minute…” I laid my head against his shoulder, breathing heavily against his neck. “Fuck…”
“Does it feel good?” He whispered, his thumb brushing over the tip wiping the pre-come across the head. “You’re very close, I can feel it.”
“It does feel good,” I assured him. “Especially when paired with your warm come still inside me.”
He hummed, kissing my throat, and I turned my face to capture his lips as I came across our stomachs, wrenching my hips forward involuntarily, his member sliding out of my rectum, his come seeping out, trickling down my thighs.
“Well, you did make a mess didn’t you?” He taunted me, pushing me back to lick some of the come from my chest.
“You should clean it up, it is your fault.” I scoffed.
“My fault? Why is this my fault?” He asked, leaning up on his elbows. “You’re the one who made me wait to fuck you for almost three days…”
“I am teasing you,” I kissed him. “But, we should go shower before it goes everywhere.”
“Agreed,” He nodded, watching me get up from the bed, groaning slightly as the come continued to trickle down my thighs. “You are so gorgeously dirty…are you are sure you want to shower just now? Maybe we could have another quick go…”
“We can have a go in the shower,” I grinned, holding out my hand to him. “C’mon.”

“While you’re here, you’ll stay in my rooms,” Zeus took bag with my few essential belongs from me, setting it on the end of the bed. “You can roam around as you want, but I request that you be in this room by the time Apollo returns from his daily run.”
I nodded, looking at my new surroundings for the next three months. It was the room I had been in the last time I was alone with him, the chest I had been tied across sitting at the end of the vast bed –even bigger the one in Hades’ bedroom.
“You’re not going to say anything?” He asked, folding his arms across his chest. “Not even a few choice obscenities, no questions as to what the fuck is wrong with me, what you’re doing here?”
“Should I have anything to say?” I asked, looking directly at him, “Do I really have to voice the fact that I do not want to be here? I thought we were both painfully aware of that situation, pardon me for not realizing that this was coming out of the blue for you.”
“There isn’t any need to be sarcastic, Marius.”
“There is not?” I asked, taking a seat on the edge of the bed, “I would like to think that you’re getting off a little easy, considering that you’ve made deals behind my lover’s back in your favor, coercing my being here out of the Fates in exchange for my godhood.”
“How’s that going for you so far? The sister’s told me it could be a little uncomfortable.”
“Well, I am strong enough now to be able to fight back, so that will be a welcome change.”
“I now you’ve already made up your mind about me, but I really didn’t bring you here to be my sex-pet.”
“Oh really? Silly me, jumping to conclusions…please, tell why you requested me to be here for three months out of the year for the rest of eternity then?”
“Besides I finally saw my first opportunity to have you since I first saw you.” He took a step closer to the bed, pushing me back by the shoulders into the soft mattress before hovering slightly over me. “I didn’t know you were Hades’ lover when I fell in love with you. How was I supposed to know that you were anymore then a very attractive shade?”
I turned my face away, only to have his thumb and finger turn it back rather sharply. My reached up, pulling his hand away –this time an easy feat, and brought my knee up between his legs –but not hard, just enough to get a soft grunt past his lips.
“I do not have any other feelings for you outside of resentment, bordering on hatred. You can do whatever you want to me for the next three months and I will play the part of your slave or whatever it is that you want from me…but I will not love you.”
“I’m not asking you to love me back, Marius. I know that you won’t return these feelings for me. My brother has you completely brainwashed, doesn’t he?”
“Hades has never brainwashed me, he did not need to.”
“That’s what you think.”
“Trying to turn me against him isn’t going to work either, Zeus. That would just be your own attempt to try and convince me that he is an unsavory character.”
“Why are you fighting me so much?” He asked, pushing himself back off the bed, striding away towards his small bar, pouring himself a glass of wine. “Why are you so adamantly and dead-set against this arrangement?”
“Are you seriously asking me that question?” I asked, sitting back on my elbows, watching him across the room.
“I am.” He nodded, sipping from the chalice, staring at me pointedly.
“You already know that answer –I do not love you.”
“And yet, here you are. You could have said no, you could have taken the other deal, but no…you and Hades both chose and agreed to this plan. I don’t think you have any right to be angry about this.”
“I have plenty of reason to be angry about this. You used me as a pawn to get what you wanted out of your brother. I do not think you actually have any feelings for me at all, I am just a small piece in a large puzzle you are trying to put together, am I not?”
He didn’t argue, mulling over the metaphor for a few moments before shaking his head, “No, you’re not just a toy, Marius. I really do have feelings for you. You’ll come to see that.”
“Wanting to fuck me does not mean that you have ‘feelings’ for me, sir, just that you are sexually ambiguous.” I sat up, my palms still pressed into he bed, keeping me upright.
“Ooh, you’re pulling out the large vocabulary today, aren’t you, Marius?”
“Do not be so boorish, it really doesn’t suit you.”
“You’re really asking for it, aren’t you?” He asked, setting the goblet down, and striding back to me, pushing me back onto the bed again, his rough hands pressed against my face, tilting my chin up. “You want me make me angry, don’t you? It’s better for you when I’m angry isn’t it? It doesn’t feel as though you’re cheating on him then, am I right?”
“What are you talking about?” I asked, my hands gripping around his wrists.
“You want me to force you into this, even though you want it just as much as I do. It doesn’t matter that you don’t love me, Marius. You’re still a man, aren’t you? You’ve only had sex with one person in your long existence, and that’s been Hades, hasn’t it? You want to know what it’s like to do it with someone else, don’t you? You’re curious to know if it’s any different… I won’t tell Hades if that’s what you’re afraid of. He’ll never know…he can sit in his self-imprisonment in the Underworld and dream about what kind of tortures you’re undergoing, and when you get back, you can just tell him that…you don’t want to talk about it.”
“Why would I want that?”
“Why wouldn’t you? You are curious, aren’t you, Marius?”
“No.”
“You’re so cute when you lie…your eyes shift just so slightly to the left when you do it.”
I stared pointedly at him, “I am not lying to you. I want no part in this…”
“But you want me to abuse you, am I right?”
“To have you abuse me is better then giving into you willingly.”
“Is that so?” He mused, shifting onto his side next to me, curling a muscular leg over my hip, stroking a finger down my cheek. “…You know what I’m going to do over the next three months, Marius?”
“I have a pretty good idea, if it’s anything like the last time I was in this room.”
“I’m going to break you like a horse….a great stallion.”
“Breaking out the whips, are we?”
“If that’s what you want, Marius…is that what it’s going to take? A good beating? Maybe a little starvation? Locking you up, perhaps?”
I did not reply again, averting my eyes. He was partly right…I was curious to know what it was like, but at the same time, I had no desire to go through with fulfilling my curiosity. I was perfectly happy to have one, and only one lover –and between Zeus and Hades, I would pick Hades in a heartbeat. It was not even that I did not like Zeus…he was attractive (a god after all), with thick curly blonde locks that were cut short, a strong masculine body, worn-smooth hands that (as much as I hated to admit) felt good against my skin. His eyes were a deep blue color, deeper then my own. His nose was flat-bridged and very Romanesque. What he had said before had been true –I did look a lot like him, except for my much softer features. He was a warrior and I was a peon.
“Look at me,” His fingers turned my head, his fingers pressing against the sides of my face, near my eyes –a signal that if he wanted to, it would be no trouble at all for him to just…pop them out of their sockets. “Is that what you want?”
“What I want does not matter to you, does it?”
“Of course it matters!” He sighed, exasperated. “I’m not this monster you think I am, you know! Was I cruel to take you away from Hades, yes I suppose I was, but that doesn’t mean I’m a bad person.”
I raised an eyebrow, “…Excuse me, could you go over that last bit again?”
He shook his head, sitting up on the edge of the bed again, running his hand through his hair, “Forget it. I have things to do. Don’t get lost, and make sure you’re back here at the designated time.”
He started to get up, before turning around, “And, just so you know, you can’t leave the Mountain, so don’t try it. I don’t want to have to punish you Marius, but I won’t hesitate to do it if it comes to that.”
“I doubt that that at all.”

Walking around the God’s palace was a little bizarre. Everywhere you turned, there was someone there–a servant, a god, a demigod, bizarre creatures. Not at all like the quiet underworld. This place was bright, cheerful, full of pace and excitement… It made me miss home –the dark, quiet, dull underworld where it was just (for the last year or so) me and Hades, and the occasional stray animal, or servant, hired on temporarily to do a mass sweep of the castle before it started to fall into decay.
“Good morning, Marius.” Hestia, the goddess of the Hearth and sister to Zeus and Hades looked up from where she had been stoking a fire in one of the libraries. “Did you just arrive?” I must have looked surprised, because she laughed, brushing her long braid off her shoulder behind her as she stood, brushing any soot from her pastel blue skirt. “Ah, I see…surprised to see a God at work, am I right? I prefer to take care of the fireplaces around here –the servants don’t know how to tend a fire for shit around here.” She crossed the space between us, touching her hand to my arm. “Oh, you’re cold; you should come closer to the fire then.”
“It’s alright, I’m always cold,” I shook my head, glad that something finally came out of my mouth.
She laughed again, linking her arm with mine, “Well in that case then, shall I give you the grand tour? I’m sure wandering around by yourself isn’t really giving you much in terms of the lay of the land, is it?”
“You’d be surprised what you can learn by wandering –but, sure. If you have time that is.”
“I have plenty of time… Gods don’t actually do a whole lot. I’m sure that Zeus is actually playing a bit of Chinese Football with Artemis or something.” She rolled her eyes, “We all know that we have little to do anymore…but, we still try to act busy. Don’t tell anyone I told you that though. They might get a little irate with me.”
“Is that why Zeus made the deal with Fates? Because he is bored?” I couldn’t help myself from asking the question, even though I wasn’t sure if Hestia had any idea what I was talking about, or even if she would know the inner most workings of Zeus’s head. I had a feeling that she did though –the silent goddess, sitting a the hearth, rarely making her presence known…listening and listening whether she was meant to or not.
“Hmm…I wouldn’t say that was the only reason, but I think it could be construed as part of it.” She nodded, tugging me along with her. “I mean, after the fall of the Greek and Roman empires on earth, we’re only considered as Mythology… No one ever really prays to us anymore…well, except to Hecate, but those people tend to be psychopaths.”
“Then what? What does he think that he will accomplish by making Hades and my life miserable? This doesn’t make sense to me, m’ lady.”
She giggled, “M’ lady? Oh please, Hestia is fine. I am not some snotty goddess –besides, you’re one of us now aren’t you? What was that like anyway?”
“I had to drink a potion; it felt as though my insides were melting.” I cringed.
She nodded, “I would imagine so. Those Fates are pretty tricky broads.”
“They can be a little unnerving, I try not to spend to much time with them…they always stare at me like I don’t belong there.”
“Well…do you?” She asked, stopping, turning to stand in front of me. “I don’t men to sound…you know rude, but just how long have you been with my brother? You’ve been coming here with him on those few rare occasions for longer then I can even remember…were you his lover then?”
I shrugged, “I was his servant for a long time before I became his lover…but it has been a long time.”
“Hmm,” She turned again, continuing down the hall, beckoning me to follow her. “I think Zeus’s biggest problem is that he hates it when Hades is happy.”
“What do you mean?”
“You know the story of the creation and Zeus’s coming into power, right? Well, what they don’t tell you is that Zeus and Posideon had already agreed that Zeus would rule –after all, he was the one of us that hadn’t been devoured by Cronus and freed us…he deserved it. The rest of us all grew up inside of our father…and even then, Hades was a little different then the rest of us. He was always a little cynical and bitter, and when we were freed, well… He didn’t like that he was being undermined even though he was the eldest son. Anyway, so they drew a lottery…but all three papers said Underworld on them… Posideon and Zeus switched their pieces with ones they were already carrying. Hades was so pissed when he found out! It wasn’t even that he doesn’t like living in the Underworld, it suits him just fine, but that his brothers would deceive him like that? And then, Zeus tries to make up for it by telling him he can marry Persephone? Oh please, that was doomed to fail from the beginning. I mean, she is so dull…”
“Do you like him?”
“Who?” She asked, turning again.
“Hades.”
“He’s my brother,” She smiled. “I love him… I love everyone. It’s not really my place to judge my siblings or their children though.”
I took a moment to stare at her before shaking my head, “Okay, whatever you say.”
“So, tell me about yourself.” She pushed open the door to a room, ushering me inside, before closing it again behind her. It was a bright, cheery room, very feminine. The large four-poster bed was situated between the two large windows overlooking the garden, and the large fireplace was clean, and tidy, scarlet upholstered furniture littering the room. She took a seat in one of the wing-backed chairs, looking at me.
“Um, well…there isn’t that much to say. I’ve been dead for two thousands years.”
“Well, do you like it with Hades? What’s it like living down there?”
“Much like living up here, I suppose. It is a little colder, a little darker, but it is not a bad place. I enjoy it.” I shrugged. “Hades has gorgeous gardens, a very large castle… Have you never been there?”
“I’ve never really left Olympus.” Hestia shrugged. “Once in awhile, back in the day I would go visit the mortals, but…no more of that, I guess. It’s not worth it to go down there now. It’s rather scary, actually.”
“I know what you mean,” I nodded.
We were quiet for a few minutes before she looked up at me, brushing a lock of hair out of her eyes, “Marius?”
“Yes?”
“Just so you know…when you need to get away from him, you’re more then welcome to come find me. I may not be good for much anymore, but I can still listen, if you need to talk. I can do that yet.”
“Thank you, but I’m sure I’ll be fine. It’s only three months, right?”
She shrugged, “You’d be surprised how long three months can take to pass.”

“You’re late.” Zeus was already sitting on the bed when I walked in to “our” room about a month into our arrangement, after a day with Hestia playing games outdoors.
“Sorry,” I sat on the edge of the bed, unlacing the sandals I wore, setting them by the corner of the bed. “I was with Hestia.”
“You’ve been spending a lot of time with her lately. She likes you, then?”
“Apparently,” I shrugged. “She’s usually the one that comes to find me, not the other way around.” I felt his eyes on me as I lifted my shirt over my head and folded it before setting it down on one of the chairs, followed soon after by my trousers. “So, what will it be tonight? Hair pulling and handcuffs or you going to break out that whip you like to tease me with?” I stared pointedly over my shoulder at him.
He stared back, his eyes on my face, which surprised me, making my gaze waiver for a moment. His eyes tended to be piercing and intense, which made me not want to look into them, but if I did not, he would probably take it as a sign of being “broken” which was the last thing I wanted him to think.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” It was starting to unnerve me….just staring like that, and not saying anything to me.
“You piss me off.”
“Funny that…” I shrugged. “Perhaps you should have gotten to know me better before you devised this plan? You’re stuck with me now, I guess.”
“No…I don’t regret that. I can just seal your mouth if you talk to much while I’m fucking you. I’m talking about the time in between sex. You never have anything nice to say to me do you? Your tone is always sarcastic… why can’t you talk to me like you talk to Hades?”
“Because I like Hades…I have feelings for Hades. You are just an asshole.” I scoffed, sitting on the edge of the bed, staring pointedly back at him.
“Do you talk to Hestia like this?”
“I’m not fucking Hestia.”
“Maybe you should,” Zeus shrugged. “Of course, she’s missing an essential part of the anatomy for what you tend to like, but I’m sure you could get around that. You love her, right?”
I shrugged, “I don’t just go around loving people, Zeus. She’s a very kind woman, and I enjoy spending time with her. She helps me to relieve the monotony I would otherwise face being here on my own… But as for loving her, I don’t know; maybe as my sister but nothing more then that.”
“You know, back when you were first born, men married their sisters all of the time.”
“Is that your plan? Force me to marry Hestia…if you can’t have me, no one can?”
“Would it work?”
“No. You know as well as anyone I still have to return to the Underworld regardless of what you may have planned.”
“Ah, of course… you spent two thousand some years eating pomegranates. Stupid asshole,” He shook his head.
“You know, it isn’t as though I asked for you to fall in love with me. I was perfectly happy before you came to such a realization. If anyone is at fault for anything, it is you. Why could you not just be happy with all of your concubines?”
“Do you have an idea how long I’ve been ruling here; married to that infernal Hera? Nearly three millennia, Marius…it isn’t my fault I get bored being with the same people all of the time.”
“Maybe you just need better hobbies.”
“You are my better hobby, Marius.”
“You shouldn’t treat your hobbies like shit then.”
“Excuse me? When have I ever treated you poorly?”
My eyes widened slightly, “You did not just say that.”
“No, I am completely serious. When I have I ever actually hurt you? Never. Yes, I’ve tied you up, I’ve entered you without warning…but you heal.”
“You kidnapped me, and now are keeping me here out of my will without letting me see or speak with my lover! Physical pain heals, but that is not your game, is it? You get a sick, deviant type pleasure out fucking with my head. That and you don’t…” I stopped, pressing my fingers to my lips and turning away from him, shaking my head.
“What? I don’t what?” He prodded, sitting up moving to sit a little closer to me, touching his hand to my bare back. My body tensed for a second before relaxing again –a moment he didn’t ignore, and he sighed. “What is that I’m doing wrong, Marius? I want for you to be happy here, but I’m obviously missing something pretty essential that you’re only getting when you’re with…him.”
“You really want to know why I don’t like being with you, Zeus?”
“Yes! Why would I ask if I didn’t want to know?”
I turned my head slightly looking at him, the concern on his face registering with my gaze, “You do not take care of me.”
“What are you talking about? Of course I take care of you…I feed you, cloth you (for the most part), I haven’t beat you yet, I let you go anywhere you want.”
“That is not what I am talking about. Yeah, you would make an excellent father, but I mean…I am talking about sexually. You do not take care of me, Zeus. This is all about you. If I am not your sex slave, should I not reap some of the benefits of copulating with you?”
He looked at me for a moment, tilting his head slightly to the side, “You mean, you don’t…of course you do! You have too had an orgasm, Marius!”
“Not with you,” I shook my head. “Not because you did anything for me at any rate.”
“Well…why did it take you a month to say something about this?”
“Because I can ’no talk to you, Zeus,” I shook my head.
“We’re talking right now.”
“No, we are arguing right now. Everything we say to each other comes out as an argument.”
“That’s because you’re a sarcastic little wench.”
“See? And now you are calling me names.”
“…I just can’t win with you, can I?” He shook his head. “Fine –okay, I won’t talk to you like that, if you stop talking to me in that sarcastic and demeaning tone.”
“I can not help that. It is just what comes out of my mouth when I speak to you.”
“I’ll make a deal with you then…” He knelt on his knees behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, and pressing his lips to my neck. “You teach me how to satisfy you, and I’ll try and help you stop using that tone of voice.”
“…You, you want me to help you what?”
“If I’m not satisfying you, I want to know how to do that. So, you’ll need to teach me.”
“…Right now?”
“No. Not tonight...I’m not in the mood after arguing with you again. But tomorrow night, we can have a our first lesson, yes?”
I turned to look at him. His eyes weren’t hard anymore, but actually rather soft, not so intense as they were before. Sort of loving actually, in a bizarre kind of way.
“…Okay. I’ll help you.”
